Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) is a project of Health Care Without Harm (HCWH). GGHH has among its objectives the promotion of safe and sustainable practices in the healthcare sector and seeks to create a global community of health care providers that share knowledge and best practices, including through its website and social media platform GGHH Connect (


The GGHH privacy policy is aligned with the principles of the Creative Commons, which are designed to facilitate the right to share, use, and even build upon a work you’ve created, while protecting some licensing rights (videos, texts and photos).


The content posted in the publicly browseable part of the GGHH website are distributable, adaptable or can be used to create derivative works, provided that credit is given for the original author.

There is also a members only social media platform GGHH Connect, the privacy of which is addressed below.



We are genuinely concerned about privacy and we do everything in our power to ensure it.  No software or hardware techniques are employed to covertly capture a user’s name, IP, email address or other personal data. We do not install or activate any program, virus, script, trojans or any other program that could compromise your security or invade your privacy.

The use of cookies on our website has the sole and exclusive purpose of accessing statistics. These statistics are intended to better understand the public using the site, in order to improve it and to encourage a larger audience to view it.

You should keep in mind that no internet transmission is ever completely secure or error-free.

The publicly browseable areas of the website are open to all visitors to read, search, browse, and download at no cost.

GGHH’s open data policy is intended to promote the sharing of ideas and information with the broadest possible audience, in order to further its mission.

Secure Data Area

GGHH Connect is a secure social media platform. To access it you will need to be a member of GGHH and log on with your unique user id. In order to become a GGHH member you will be asked to provide certain information such as your contact details, institutional information (location, size, website, contact information, etc.) and background related to the GGHH Goals you are committing to work on (for more information, see:  GGHH is able to correlate a user id with the member contact information, which we store in an offline database and an online Customer relationship management (CRM) program.

In GGHH Connect you will enter information related to your participation with GGHH’s Agenda. This information will be kept confidential for GGHH’s review and analysis only


There is other information within GGHH Connect that is intended to be shared with other GGHH members.  This information will be shared with GGHH members, and other authorized users of GGHH Connect, but there are restrictions on how members and other users of GGHH Connect may distribute this information. These restrictions are stated in the Terms of Use Agreement for GGHH Connect.

In GGHH Connect, members will also find tools and resources to support them in achieving the GGHH Agenda Goals. Some of these tools are for members only and will be clearly marked as such. GGHH appreciates members’ compliance with the permissions given for the use of tools and resources available to them.


Information You Provide

Like many websites, the GGHH web site and GGHH Connect collects information from its visitors actively by asking specific questions and by permitting you to communicate directly with us via e-mail.

Some of the information you submit may include personal information (that is, information that can be uniquely attributed to you such as your full name and e-mail address). You will be informed what information is required and what information is optional.

The basic descriptive information about your facility is information that we intend to use in our communications and analysis regarding our membership on our website and GGHH Connect and in our private communications. On the other hand, the information you provide regarding your user identifiable progress towards the GGHH Agenda Goals will be held confidential, unless you give permission to GGHH to share it.

You can request a copy of any basic information we have about you at any time, and request correction or removal of this information.

Opt in/out

When you visit the web site, you can choose to sign up for GGHH’s newsletter and other information. Once you have signed up to receive information you can change your mind and opt out of receiving communications from GGHH at any time by sending an email to with the message unsubscribe in the subject line.

We will not sell or pass on your data to third parties.
